"Talking Computers" 
- A one-day conference/workshop held at The University of Westminster, 309 Regent Street, London W1B 2UW, Saturday 22 June 2002, and jointly organised by Tilly Harrison, of the Computer SIG, and Michael Vaughan-Rees, of the Pronunciation SIG.
- The day was devoted to the presentation, demonstration and discussion of ways of using computers for learning and teaching pronunciation, with opportunities to hear the thoughts of experts currently working in the field, including Peter Roach (University of Reading), Richard Cauldwell (University of Birmingham), Gunther Kaltenboeck (University of Vienna) and Gail Stankler (CELE, University of Nottingham).

"CALL for the 21st Century", an ESADE and IATEFL Computer SIG joint event

IATEFL's First Virtual Conference, 28 March - 1 April 2000 
- This "virtual" conference was run in parallel with the 33rd International IATEFL Annual Conference, in Edinburgh, Scotland, 28th March - 1 April. Its aim was to enable IATEFL members who could not meet physically in Edinburgh to get up-to-date information about what was going on at the Conference day-by-day (via reports posted on the BBC's web pages) and to exchange ideas about some of the topics being presented as the event happened (via an email discussion list hosted by Manchester University). You can hear a recording of a BBC panel discussion, "Language and nation", which was "webcast" live on Monday evening, 29th March
